Your first 15 minutes in the terminal

A guided walk from picking a ticker to reading the gamma map and placing a paper setup. Start on the Gamma page and choose a liquid underlying — SPY, QQQ or /ES. The top status bar tells you three things at once: the spot price the entire app is using, how old that quote is, and whether the feed is LIVE, DELAYED or serving a cached snapshot. Every panel on the page derives from that single spot value, so if the bar says the data is stale, do not trade off the levels below it; hit Refresh All first. Next, read the three levels that matter: Call Wall, Put Wall and Zero Gamma. Above Zero Gamma dealers are typically long gamma and hedging flows dampen moves — ranges compress and mean reversion into the walls works more often. Below Zero Gamma dealers are short gamma and hedging amplifies moves, which is when trend and breakout setups pay. Finally, take one level into the Builder. Pick a spread whose short strike sits at or just beyond the wall, check the P&L chart's breakeven line, and use the Optimizer to compare it against two alternatives. The whole loop should take under fifteen minutes and it is the same loop the DTE Playbooks automate for you each morning.

Question 2

Reading the data status bar (LIVE, DELAYED, CACHED)

What each connection state means, when to trust the numbers, and how to force a refresh. LIVE means the last successful update arrived inside the current refresh interval and the WebSocket or polling transport is healthy. DELAYED means the newest quote is older than that interval — usually a slow upstream response or a throttled tier — and the timestamp shown is the real age of the data, not the time you loaded the page. CACHED means the app could not reach the feed and is intentionally showing the last valid snapshot from local storage rather than blanking the screen. This is by design: a stale number with an honest timestamp is more useful than an empty chart. Any execution-critical panel is wrapped by a guard that blocks actions when the snapshot is older than 60 seconds or when two panels disagree on spot by more than 0.1%. To force a fresh pull, use Refresh All in the header. If the state stays DELAYED across several cycles, open the feed diagnostics panel on the Risk page — it logs p50/p95 latency, error counts and divergence events so you can tell an upstream outage apart from a local network problem.

Question 3

How Zero Gamma, Call Wall and Put Wall are calculated

The exact inputs behind the three headline levels and the assumptions they carry. Gamma exposure per strike is modeled as gamma × open interest × contract multiplier × spot², with calls treated as dealer-long and puts as dealer-short under the standard market-maker assumption. Greeks are re-derived from the live chain rather than taken from a vendor field, so they stay consistent with the spot price shown in the status bar. Zero Gamma is the interpolated strike where the aggregate exposure curve crosses zero. Because it is an interpolation, it moves intraday as open interest and implied volatility change — treat it as a zone of a few points rather than a hard line. The Call Wall is the strike with the largest positive aggregate gamma, the Put Wall the largest negative one; those act as magnets and support/resistance while the open interest behind them survives. The main assumption is dealer directionality. On days dominated by customer call selling or large delta-one hedging, real dealer positioning can invert relative to the model. That is why the Dealer Positioning gauge and the flow panels exist — use them as a sanity check before sizing a trade off a single level.

Question 4

How the DTE Playbooks pick strikes

The filters behind 0DTE, 7DTE and 15DTE setups, and what the yellow medium-quality badge means. Each playbook builds candidate spreads anchored to the current Call Wall, Put Wall and Zero Gamma levels, then scores them on probability of profit and reward-to-risk. The default elite filter requires POP ≥ 50% and R:R ≥ 1.5. You can move both sliders — POP between 30% and 70%, R:R between 1.0 and 2.0 — to widen or tighten the funnel. When no candidate clears the elite thresholds, the page does not go blank. It automatically falls back to medium-quality setups (POP ≥ 40%, R:R ≥ 1.2) and marks them with a yellow badge. That badge is a warning, not an endorsement: on those days the gamma structure is not offering a clean edge and reduced size or standing aside is often the correct decision. Every suggestion prints the exact short and long strike, estimated premium, POP and expiry so it can be verified in your broker. Premiums are modeled from the live chain and will differ slightly from a real fill — always check the actual bid/ask before sending an order.

Invoices, cancellations and refunds

From there you can update the payment method, switch between monthly and annual, download every past invoice as a PDF, and cancel with one click. Question 7

Two panels show different prices — what now?

Diagnosing spot divergence and greeks that look out of date. All panels read spot from a single shared provider, so a genuine mismatch is rare and always surfaced: when two sources disagree by more than 0.1%, a divergence warning appears in the status bar and execution guards engage. If you see different numbers without that warning, one panel is almost certainly showing a cached render — refresh the page. Greeks carry their own freshness rule. If spot moves more than 0.5% after a calculation, the previous greeks are invalidated and recomputed, because a delta or gamma derived from a stale spot will misprice the hedge. A short 'recalculating' state on the calculator is expected behaviour, not a bug. If the divergence persists after a hard refresh, capture the timestamp shown in the status bar and send it to support. The error log panel keeps a rolling buffer of the last errors and can be exported straight from the UI, which makes the report reproducible on our side.

Question 8

Charts are blank or stuck loading

Accepted Answer

Browser, network and feed causes, in the order worth checking. First check the offline banner. If the browser lost connectivity, polling pauses deliberately and the app keeps the last cached snapshot; charts resume as soon as the connection returns. No action is needed beyond restoring the network. Second, check whether a single panel or the whole page is affected. A single blank panel usually means that section's error boundary caught a rendering error — reload and, if it repeats, export the error log from the Risk page. A page-wide failure points at the upstream feed and will show as DISCONNECTED in the status bar. Third, rule out browser extensions. Aggressive privacy blockers can break WebSocket upgrades and local storage writes, which disables both live updates and the cached fallback. Try a private window with extensions disabled before filing a ticket.

Question 9

Keyboard shortcuts and power-user workflow

Move between the map, builder and optimizer without touching the mouse. Press ? anywhere to open the shortcut sheet. The core bindings jump between the gamma map, builder, optimizer and risk pages, toggle compact mode for dense monitors, and trigger Refresh All. Filters and ticker selections are encoded in the URL (for example ?sym=SPY), so any view you build can be bookmarked or shared with a colleague and will reopen with exactly the same state. Compact mode shrinks paddings and chart chrome for multi-monitor desks; the setting persists locally per browser and does not affect what other seats on a team license see.

Question 10

Signal API access and rate limits

Who gets API keys, what the payload contains and how throttling works. The signal API ships with Elite and with every B2B or Enterprise license. It exposes the same strategy-signal payload the terminal consumes: levels, regime classification, confidence and the setup candidates, versioned under a published JSON schema so a change never silently breaks your integration. Requests are authenticated per account and rate limited per minute, with burst allowance sized to the plan. Exceeding the limit returns a standard 429 with a retry-after header rather than dropping the connection.
